Job Description:
Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and/or Department Director to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will include but are not limited to: CPR, wound care including irrigation and dressing, splinting, bracing, and immobilization of orthopedic injuries, performing ECGs, point-of-care testing, obtaining non-invasive lab specimen collection, crutch fitting and education, suture removal, transportation of patients between departments, providing assistance with activities of daily living, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing record keeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
Education Qualifications:
Graduate of an emergency medical technician, licensed practical nurse, or nursing assistant program.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
BLS certification (new hires must obtain within 1 month of hire)
LPN licensure in state of MN ( only required if an LPN)
Nursing Assistant hired into role will need to complete ER Tech residency or EMT program within 6 months of start date.
