    Overview:

    Insight Global is seeking a Lead Systems Administrator to lead operations at Buckley Space Force Base, CO. This role involves system engineering, real-time analysis, and team coordination in support of mission-critical ground systems. The environment is Linux-based, with a mix of bare metal and virtual infrastructure, and a strong focus on containerized applications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Serve as site lead, overseeing system processes and guiding team operations

     

    Sustain and troubleshoot Linux and virtual systems, (HW, SW, and OS)

     

    Perform quick-turn analysis on operational events

     

    Deliver technical presentations and performance reports

     

    Support ground and flight test activities

     

    Monitor system health and maintain application expertise

     

    Coordinate with stakeholders and customers and track real-world events

    Technical Environment:

    RHEL 7/9, Python, Ansible, Bash, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, VMware, OpenShift

    Work Schedule & Travel:

    Full-time, Monday–Friday with flexible hours around 8 AM–5 PM

     

    Paid travel to Boulder and Colorado Springs as needed

     

    Pay Range: ~$120-168k annually. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law

    Skills and Requirements

    • DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility. Must be willing to obtain CI Polygraph

    • Bachelor’s STEM degree and 5-10 years of relevant experience (or additional experience in lieu of degree)

    • Linux: Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux systems, preferably RedHat 6/7/8/9

    • Hardware: Experience with NetApp, RSA, Cisco, and HPE servers

    • Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware, preferable vSphere 7.

    • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or higher) Certification: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, etc

    • Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System, Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) or related domain • Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Defense System, Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) or related domain

    • Experience working in real-time or mission-critical environments

    • Skilled in analyzing system performance, verifying requirements, and collaborating on algorithm development

    • Networking: Basic understanding of IPv4 fundamentals, preferably in the context of containers and virtualization.

    • Experience writing automation for Linux in at least one general-purpose language, such as Ansible (YAML), Python, bash, Groovy, Javascript, etc.

    • Comfortable using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and reviewing code

    • Cyber security: Knowledgeable in any of the following: SonarQube, DISA STIGs, NIST RMF, zero trust, secure-by-design, Splunk, ACAS, encryption, PKI, identity management, etc.
