The role you'll contribute:
The Security Generalist performs security services duties through professional and positive interaction with the public, patients, employees and administrators. With a focus on system-based employee support in ambulatory, outpatient, and business office sites, conducts site & threat assessments, manages physical security projects and provides employee training. Provides assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations. Investigates and documents (both electronically and written) safety hazards, incidents and criminal activities. Works independently with minimal supervision. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Position requires physiological and physical fitness screenings.

Performs site assessments and ensures that security operations are compliant with AdventHealth Security Services policies, procedures, licensing, Physical Environment Security Management System requirements, and protected health information requirements and regulations as outlined by company policies and regulatory agencies.
Serves as an advisor to AdventHealth Administration on security issues related to the physical environment. Educates patients, visitors, and staff on securitys procedures as needed; serves on requested committees to promote increased security awareness; and sets an example of extraordinary customer service to security supervisors and officers.
Travels to various campuses and facilities across the state of Florida and country to provide security support. Provides mentorship and support to campus and non-campus Security personnel. Performs and coordinates security inspections, investigations, and surveys.
Recommends and participates in the development of security policies and procedures; establishes and implements short- and long-range team goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; and creates changes required for improvements.
Supervises, schedules, and coordinates contract security services at all AdventHealth business locations and properties not connected to a campus.
Develops and establishes policies and objectives consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient operation of the Security Department. Ensures delivery of high-quality security services to assigned areas of responsibility.
Assists with budget preparation, analyzes financial statements, and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs. Ensures adequate supplies are available and within budget constraints for assigned areas.
Investigates and documents, through both written and electronic format as required, to report safety hazards, incidents and criminal activities to Security Administration, law enforcement and other appropriate agencies as determined by AdventHealth, department policy, or state law. Conducts annual security assessments (as assigned) of individual AdventHealth properties to determine possible security risks.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED** **:
Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage Security personnel including organization, scheduling, and prioritizing work assignments!
Effective oral and written communication skills, with heavy emphasis on customer service
Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to operate security and parking management software and physical security systems (including, but not limited to CCTV, access control, license plate recognition, duress alarms, etc.)
Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents
Ability to communicate effectively in a group setting or in a presentation setting with employees, visitors, or patients
Compliance with maintaining confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients, visitors, and/or employees
Skilled in proper telephone, email, and radio etiquette
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Ability to conduct threat assessment and evaluate security risk
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that includes frequent interruptions, changes in priorities, and stress
Ability to compile, review, and summarize federal, state, and local laws and regulations that affect the safe and secure operation of AdventHealth.
**_KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED_** _:_

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED** **:
Associates Degree with course work in Security, Law Enforcement, or an equivalent program
5 years of experience in Security, the Military, or Law Enforcement with heavy customer contact
**_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED_** _:_
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or relevant field (Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, etc.)
Prior experience working in security operations in a multi-site healthcare system
Prior experience providing Executive Protection and coordinating Event Security
Prior experience carrying a sidearm in the line of duty as security, law enforcement or military police.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED** **:
International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS), or Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Associate Protection Professional (APP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) from the American Society for International Security
State of Florida Class E drivers license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy

FEMA ICS 300
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Personal Safety Training, Inc. Pepper Spray, or equitable national certification
Personal Safety Training, Inc. Baton, or equitable national certification
