    Job Description:

    We are seeking aSoftware Engineer – Database specialistIV candidate to

     

    support anIntelligence Communitycustomer in the Washington D.C.,

     

    Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will be responsible for

     

    programming in a variety of coding languages and have been exposed to

     

    front and backend technologies.  The candidate must be familiar with SQL

     

    Server administration, performance tuning, and security compliance with

     

    contributing to the software development process and adhere to standards

     

    and best-practices.  From the inception of a particular functionality

     

    via a request from the customer to the formal quality testing and

    customer training for the final product, the Software Engineer will see

    a project through from start to finish. The candidate will work the

     

    project through the process from developing software requirements to

     

    implementation to testing and debugging to get the final product.  Once

     

    the final product has been completed, create support and troubleshooting

     

    documentation and lead training sessions for the customer.

    Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

    - Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of

     

    database-driven solutions in support of enterprise applications.

     

    - Administer, install, configure, and monitorSQL Serverenvironments

     

    (on-premises and cloud).

     

    - Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and

     

    security hardening for mission-critical databases.

     

    - Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high

     

    availability solutions.

     

    - Apply DoD STIGs and SCAP compliance to database and application

     

    environments.

     

    - Collaborate with software engineers, system admins, and analysts to

     

    design and implement scalable solutions.

     

    - Develop and support application components using.NETtechnologies

     

    (ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET)and integrate with SQL databases.

     

    - Create and maintain technical documentation: SOPs, STPs, system

     

    admin guides, and user manuals.

     

    - Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) for

     

    database and application tasks.

     

    - Provide end-user support, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor

     

    junior team members.

    Requirements:

    - 8+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration

     

    (design, performance, maintenance, security).

     

    - 3+ years of software development experience with .NET stack

     

    (ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET).

     

    - Experience withAWS Cloud(RDS, EC2, S3, or related).

     

    - Strong background inSTIG/SCAPcompliance and database security

     

    practices.

     

    - DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent).

     

    - Demonstrated experience with disaster recovery and high availability

     

    (HA/DR) strategies.

     

    - Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to work

     

    independently and collaboratively.

    Desired Qualifications:

    - Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Integration

     

    Services (SSIS).

     

    - Experience with an AGILE methodology.

     

    - Familiarity with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases.

     

    - Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).

     

    - Experience with automated testing tools.

     

    - Familiarity with Linux and Windows server environments.

     

    - Prior experience with financial systems or government business

     

    systems.

    Education:

    - BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related

     

    field.
