Job Summary
The University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) is seeking a **Security Intelligence Analyst** . Under the direction of the Police Sergeant for the department, you will responsible for collecting, evaluating, and disseminating intelligence to support the division's security objectives.
What You'll Do
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
+ **Predictive Analysis:** Conduct in-depth research and predictive analysis by collecting and organizing data from varying sources to produce reliable, actionable intelligence and offer event staffing recommendations based on risk assessment.
+ **Risk Mitigation:** Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for protective and special events.
+ **Prepare Intelligence Products:** Prepare reports, bulletins, and threat assessments, articulating complex security concepts that inform and enhance campus safety measures.
+ **Liaison:** Serve as liaison between DPSS departments and other internal and external partners, including local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, to ensure the timely sharing of critical information and foster collaboration.
+ **Additional Support:** Provide additional support to the Special Events and Protective Security Unit as needed.
+ **Confidential Support** : Perform independent and confidential tasks related to strategic intelligence, maintaining the highest level of discretion in handling sensitive information.

It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Required Qualifications*
+ Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Criminal Analysis, Homeland Security, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
+ Minimum of three years of law enforcement experience focusing on intelligence operations or analysis.
+ Experience with computer software related to intelligence analysis applications and online social media, chat, dark web, and open-source sites.
+ Familiarity with principles and practices of threat management and assessment to identify, monitor, and report potential online threats and heightened activity.
+ Experience with principles and practices of crime and data analysis, analytical research methods, and criminal intelligence related to researching, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data.
+ Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated effectiveness in complex, decentralized organizations.
+ Ability to adapt work hours to accommodate various University events and initiatives.
+ Prior experience in a confidential, high-demand environment.
+ Proficiency with MS Office, Google Drive, and related software.
+ Valid driver's license with a driving record of fewer than 6 points.
+ Must pass a comprehensive public safety background investigation, psychological exam, and physical and drug screening.
+ Must be able to work late afternoons, evenings and some weekends.
Additional Information
All members of DPSS are considered Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. As such, you are required to report any Clery reportable offenses (https://www.clerycenter.org/) that come to your attention. DPSS employees must also complete the Clery Compliance training within 14 days of employment and annually thereafter.
