Title: Senior Center Coordinator
Classification : Part-Time, Benefits Eligible; 30 hours/week (M-F 8:00am – 2:00pm)
Pay Rate: $17-$18/hr
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Aging Services, the Senior Center Coordinator coordinates all programs and activities for the center. They must have knowledge of working with older adults, familiarity with the Monroe County program development and funding processes. This position engages with individuals from diverse backgrounds, writes proposals, supervises and trains volunteers/staff and works cooperatively with various units of local government.
Job Duties
+ Coordinates the Senior Nutrition Center in accordance with Monroe County Office for the Aging (MCOFA) guidelines.
+ Maintains and distributes monthly calendar and newsletter by the first of every month.
+ Provides outreach to area seniors and recruits seniors to attend the center.
+ Coordinates ongoing programming within the center.
+ Networks with other aging programs within the community.
+ Completes agency monthly statistical reports on Peer Place system.
+ Ensures the center is comprised of diverse individuals.
+ Attends meetings and trainings as assigned.
+ Other job duties, as assigned.

+ Excellent supervisory skills including the ability to train, mentor, and encourage staff and volunteer alignment to the mission, vision, and values of the agencies.
+ Interact adeptly with community agencies.
+ Build rapport effectively with elderly individuals.
+ Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
+ Identify potential funding sources that align with organizational goals and projects.
+ Utilize various computer software including Windows, Word, and Excel.
+ Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in work approach.
+ Identify and address challenges to optimize efficiency and achieve optimal outcomes.
+ Interact professionally with staff, volunteers, and consumers of diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
+ Convey information and ideas to diverse audiences in various formats.

+ Must be able to physically perform stooping, kneeling, walking, lifting, grasping, pulling, standing, talking, hearing.
+ Must be able to perform light work exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Must be able to travel as needed getting in and out of a car both indoors and outdoors and may have exposure to various weather conditions.
+ Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods.
Qualifications
+ Required: High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in a related field, working with the elderly at a supervisory level.
+ Preferred: Associate degree and one (1) year of experience working in a related field, working with the elderly at a supervisory level.
+ Certified as a Servsafe Manager 1 within three (3) months of employment.
