JOB SUMMARY
Are you driven by the power of music to connect, inspire, and elevate brand experiences? Marriott’s Global Partnerships team is seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Music Partnerships to lead our global music strategy and deliver unforgettable moments for guests and members worldwide.
This role is ideal for a seasoned music partnerships leader with deep industry relationships and a proven ability to build innovative, high-impact partnerships across the music ecosystem—from artists and festivals to streaming platforms and experiential activations.
As the organization’s subject matter expert in music, the Director will shape and execute global music initiatives that enhance brand storytelling, drive guest engagement, and strengthen loyalty. Collaborating across Continent Marketing, Global Marketing, Loyalty, Marriott Bonvoy Moments, Sales, Social, Content, PR, Purpose Driven, Legal, Finance, and external agencies, the Director will deliver integrated, full-funnel strategies that balance long-term brand building with short-term activation.
Success in this role requires a consultative approach, strong business acumen, and the ability to tie KPIs to brand and commercial objectives. Data-driven insights will be key to optimizing performance and maximizing ROI.
This position reports to the VP, Global Partnerships & Experiences.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major.
8+ years of experience in music partnerships, brand partnerships, or entertainment strategy
Strong network across the music ecosystem (artists, labels, promoters, streaming, etc.)
Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization with global stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
Demonstrated ability to translate creative vision into business results.
Experiencing working with Agency partners and managing vendor relationships
Education and Experience Preferred
Experience using Data and Analytics
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Partnership Strategy, Planning, and Execution
Drives the development of the music partnership strategy, leveraging brand, business, partner, audience, culture, market and competitive insights to create the overarching partnership approach.
Develops innovative strategies and activations that provide for breakthrough and buzz worthy programming.
Identifies, builds and manages strong relationships with executives and/or contacts at partner organizations to drive maximum value.
Leads and assists with negotiations with partners, working closely with legal and finance on business implications.
Identifies value-add and opportunities for enhancement, and partner to drive the platform's evolution. Assists with the creation of strategic business plans, including defining partner value propositions and competitive strategies.
Elevates awareness and effectively communicates the benefits and obligations of existing partnership agreements across the business.
