Who We Are
The Office of the Commandant (OOC) serves and supports departments within the Corps of Cadets that are critically engaged in all aspects of student development and the delivery of key services and support. OOC departments work to create environments that help students grow, develop, learn, and enhance their experience at Texas A&M by providing leadership opportunities, experiential education, and connections beyond the classroom. This position will be part of a centralized team that supports the active recruiting efforts of future cadets and their families to Texas A&M and the Corps of Cadets.
What We Want
The Corps Marketing and Communications Assistant Director, under general direction, assists the Strategic Support and Engagement Director by developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that align with Corps priorities. This position oversees Corps marketing and communication staff, manages Corps brand consistency, and implements programs and campaigns that support recruitment and a positive image of the Corps of Cadets, in collaborations with Texas A&M University partners. Contributes to strategic planning and supports administrative functions including budget.

Responsibilities
Marketing
+ Translates organization recruiting priorities into integrated marketing campaigns.
+ Ensures a recruiting first alignment.
+ Integrates recruiting strategy across Marcomm staff roles.
+ Identifies, develops and collaborates with Corps Recruiting to improve recruitment and awareness of Corps opportunities to meet Corps recruitment goals.
+ Ensures appropriate marketing efforts support targeted segments of Texas A&M interested students.
+ Develops marketing and communications plans and strategies to reach high-achieving prospective cadets.
+ Maintains a basic level of knowledge concerning admissions processing.
+ Overseas market trends and data analysis to ensure effectiveness of recruitment marketing programs and efforts.
+ Assists in identifying the needs of the Corps Recruiting team related to marketing and publications.
+ Collaborates with Texas A&M’s Marketing staff to develop materials and plans to help meet the needs and goals of the department.
Program/Project/Brand Management
+ Under general direction, establishes the direction, goals, agendas, implementation strategy and policies pertaining to Marketing within the Office of the Commandant and Corps of Cadets.
+ Advises the Strategic Support and Engagement Director on all aspects of department activities and recommends appropriate courses of action to establish and maintain a positive image of the department.
+ Assists the Strategic Support and Engagement Director in developing and implementing overall departmental strategic plan.
+ Assists in developing and Implementing marketing strategies and programs that communicate consistent messages across all media platforms.
+ Manages the Marketing and Communications staff regarding development of programs/projects that promote the Corps of Cadets and support recruiting and development activities.
+ Explores and leverages the use of new media and technology for the delivery of marketing services.
+ Makes recommendations to the Director on new initiatives or possible improvements.
+ Provides brand oversight and ensures consistency across all platforms, in alignment with Texas A&M brand standards.
Supervisory
+ Assist the Strategic Support and Engagement Director with oversight of marketing/communications team and provides professional development opportunities.
+ Supervises and directs staff and activities of project teams or functional areas.
+ Represent Strategic Support and Engagement Director in meeting and events as required.
+ Establishes and oversees marketing/communication team goals in support of the mission and goals of the Corps.
+ Oversees production schedules and all corps recruitment marketing efforts.
+ Provides leadership and expertise as part of the communications team.
Administrative Support
+ Consults on budgeting or other financial management operations within the department.
+ Coordinates with Director on performance goals and measures to evaluate the success of areas of responsibility.
+ Assists in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.
+ Serves on committees and projects as directed by the Strategic Support and Engagement Director.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Six years of marketing/communications or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in marketing.
+ Has working knowledge of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
+ Previous Texas A&M work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills
+ Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and familiarity with graphics and web-authoring software
+ Ability to confidently handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, and to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Physical Requirements
+ Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up 8 hours)
