    Full Time – Therapist - Samaritan Hospital, Crime Victims Services (PREA)

    What you will do:

    The therapist is responsible for providing services to incarcerated victims/survivors who have experienced sexual violence while incarcerated or throughout the life span. This position will have a focus, providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to individuals and the possibility of groups referred through the NYS PREA Hotline, and DOCCS personnel. Additional services may include: crisis intervention and short-term counseling, long-term therapy, advocacy, and OSI reporting assistance.

    Responsibilities:

    + Maintain a therapy caseload of individual clients ideally seen weekly, comprised of incarcerated individuals (I/I’s)

    + Provide direct supportive services to victims/survivors of crime including but not limited to crisis intervention, advocacy, and counseling/therapy/groups.

    + Maintain records both electronic and paper copy in keeping with program requirements and agency confidentiality standards and in a timely fashion.

    + Assist with training new staff, volunteers and per diems.

    + Provide referrals for needed services to victims/survivors.

    + Perform outreach services both within and outside of the St. Peters Healthy Partners System.

    + Develop strong and enduring relationships with service organizations and institutions who serve at-risk and high needs communities (i.e- DOCCS).

    What you will need:

    + Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field required.

    + Provisional licensure will be considered.

    + LCSW Preferred.

    + A valid NYS driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are also required.

     

    Sexual Assault Counselor certification by the New York State Department of Health is required for this position to provide crisis intervention, victim advocacy, and counseling services. (Note - if the colleague does not already possess this certification, it will be provided by the program at no cost

     

    Pay Range:$30.00 - $43.08

     

    Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
