Description:
Position Purpose
Pharmacy Technician in the inpatient area at Mercy Medical Center. Support Pharmacists and ensure medications are distributed properly including refilling machines.
What you will do
+ Support pharmacists in all aspects of pharmacy activities
+ Package and distribute drugs and sterile products
+ Maintain automated dispensing machines (ADMs) stock levels by loading and refilling medications including narcotics for all in-patients
+ Assist nurses trouble-shooting ADM questions and drawer maintenance
+ Dispense controlled drugs with supervision of a pharmacist to anesthetists, and for delivery to ADM machines
+ Inspect assigned nursing units for proper drug storage, stability and expiration dates
Minimum Qualifications
+ Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a hospital-based, community college or military technician training program preferable
+ National certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)--if not already obtained-- is required within 1 year of Date of Hire
+ MA Pharmacy Technician state registration must be current; or registration as a Pharmacy Intern and actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy program.
