    Position Summary:

    Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and operations of retinal imaging instruments, train users and provide hands-on assistance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Support state-of-the-art computer-assisted high speed optical coherence tomography (OCT), maintain instrumentation, and operate imaging equipment.

    + Communicate with and instruct equipment usage as necessary to researchers with various knowledge levels in imaging technology.

    + Communicate with suppliers to report problems, repair, or replace faulty equipment.

    + Data recording and bookkeeping.

    + Oral and written presentation of activities performed in the laboratory is expected for internal reports.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

    + Bachelor's Degree required in Science or Engineering field, including Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field. Advanced Degree preferred.

    Experience:

    + 3 years of experience in retinal imaging is required.

    + Expertise in optics, OCT, scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (SLO), and adaptive optics (AO).

    + Highly motivated and organized.

    + Must have strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to communicate effectively.

    + Ability to develop educational materials and conduct trainings.

    + Ability to use highly technical equipment.

     

    Work Experience Preferred: Familiarity with clinical retinal imaging technologies will be useful but not required. Expertise in image processing and quantification using Matlab, Python, or similar software packages will be useful.
