    Relief RVT or Senior Veterinary Assistant – Advanced Veterinary Specialists (Santa Barbara, CA)

    About the Role:

    Advanced Veterinary Specialists (AVS) is seeking Relief Registered Veterinary Technicians or experienced Senior Veterinary Assistants to support our specialty and emergency teams on an as-needed basis. If you’re looking to stay connected to ER or specialty care without a full-time commitment, this is a great opportunity to contribute your skills in a meaningful way.

    Compensation:

    + $22.00 – $35.00/hour, based on experience and credentials

    + Additional $2.00/hour differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

    Basic Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Current California RVT license preferred, but not required

    + Emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred

    + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and colleagues

    + Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations for medication doses, CRIs, estimates, and invoices

    + Must maintain or obtain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire (waived if RVT)

    + Dependable, team-oriented, and calm under pressure

    Schedule:

    + Relief (Casual) Status – pick up extra shifts as needed

    + Minimum requirement: one shift per month

    + Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, is a plus
