    Our client, the waste management and recycling industry, is seeking an **Equipment Operator** to join their team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, which will align successfully in the organization.

     

    **Job Title:** Equipment Operator

    **Location:** Alexandria, MN

    **Pay Range:** $21.99

    **Shift:** Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Operate and monitor balers to compact and bale sorted recyclables such as cardboard, plastics, and metals according to specifications.

    + Label, stage, and prepare bales for storage or shipment to ensure efficient material handling.

    + Assist with cleaning and maintaining processing equipment, including conveyors, balers, screens, and magnets, to ensure optimal operation.

    + Support maintenance technicians with mechanical repairs, tool handling, and part preparation to keep equipment running smoothly.

    + Operate heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, and hook trucks to move, load, and organize materials within the facility.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + High school diploma or GED preferred; prior experience in an industrial or recycling facility is a plus.

    + Valid driver’s license and experience operating forklifts or similar equipment.

    + Ability to read and interpret site maps, load manifests, and safety procedures.

    + Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.

    + Comfortable working in loud, dusty, and hot/cold environments, following all safety policies and procedures.
