Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Finance Manager to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls with a focus on the public sector.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to build and articulate financial results and analytical insights to senior business and finance leaders. You will be familiar with managing and preparing financial analysis, critical to tracking the performance of the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) contracts and overall business performance. This role requires a self-starter with superb business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a track record of delivering results to the business. You will be analytical in approach, have a demonstrated ability to develop financial models that provide intelligence for business decisions and be able to leverage your leadership skills to drive business objectives.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop financial models for new business concepts and initiatives, and resulting financial impact to help drive data driven decision making including long range financial plans and business case analysis
- Implement and report key financial and operating metrics and performance indicators to measure overall business performance, help develop the financials associated with internal and external review meetings and provide insights to finance and business leadership
- Manage, prepare, administer, and direct the control of the budget and execution for large, complex Government programs
- Create, implement and monitor internal controls in conjunction with corporate policies to ensure reporting integrity, the safeguarding of company assets and the identification and management of financial risks
- Lead automation efforts of critical financial processes and rhythms leveraging AI
- Effectively build cross functional relationships; key to understanding the performance and direction of the business for modeling and analysis
- Drive the inputs, consolidation, and completion of Financial Planning and Analysis deliverables including Long Range Plan, 3 Year Operating Plan, OP1 and OP2
- Ability to navigate and implement alternate revenue recognition methodologies including percentage of completion driven by estimate at complete anlaysis
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- Experience presenting to senior leadership
- Experience in balancing conflicting priorities dealing with ambiguity
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Direct experience operating in program finance, pricing, and financial planning and analysis roles with an Aerospace and Defense contractor performing on United States Government
- Export Control Requirement: Highly preferred for candidates to have an active US Government security clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is a must, so you must be a US citizen.
- Experience serving as the program control analyst on an Earned Value Management program
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience with end-to-end project management, or experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
