Senior Accounting Analyst

Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay : $23-$29/hour (dependent on relevant experience)

Bonus : 5% bonus potential

Key Qualifications :

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, including working with accounts receivable & cash applications

+ Must be fluent in Microsoft Office, and capable of learning different accounting and CAT proprietary systems

+ Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Must demonstrate excellent communications skills

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

Maintain customer accounts to ensure accuracy and timely collection of funds

+ Post and apply Cat Access and ACH payments daily

+ Apply daily deposits to the proper accounts

+ Apply customer branch cash deposits

+ Communicate with customers and credit department

+ Process account adjustments

+ Post and maintain credit journals

+ Run monthly customer service charges

Process and analyze select warranty and cash sale accounts to ensure accounts receivable accuracy

+ Allocate all warranty settlements

+ Reconcile workorder back outs on all warranty receivable accounts

+ Process month end trial balance adjustments for Warranty Manager

+ Reconcile branch cash accounts for Poughkeepsie and Bloomingburg

+ Download account data from CODA into excel format and send to managers

Prepare special external financial reports to comply with regulatory requirements

+ Compile monthly truck use logs

+ Prepare monthly HUT and quarterly IFTA tax returns

+ Apply for decals, permits and licenses

+ File NYC MVT (Motor Vehicle Tax) returns

+ Work with Fleet Manager and Service Managers to ensure all vehicles are properly documented

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

+ Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time

+ Hand coordination for typing, writing, and computer use

+ Occasional forward bending and reaching

+ Occasional walking and climbing stairs

+ Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
