    The role requires leading design development and project management for significant laboratory and technology projects. You will manage operations from Schematic Design (SD) to Construction Documents (CD), develop schematic designs using Revit, and engage with clients to expand business opportunities. Mentoring junior staff and coordinating with contracted engineers and consultants are also key aspects of the job. As a licensed architect in the state of New Mexico, you will have the authority to approve drawings.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead design development and project management on laboratory and technology projects.

    + Manage day-to-day operations from Schematic Design to Construction Documents.

    + Develop schematic designs in Revit.

    + Engage with clients and develop business opportunities.

    + Mentor and lead junior staff.

    + Approve drawings as a licensed architect in New Mexico.

    + Coordinate management of contracted engineers and consultants.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

    + Experience in project management and client engagement.

    + Licensed architect in the state of New Mexico or ability to transfer license.

    + 8+ years of experience as an architect.

    + 5+ years of experience leading projects and client interactions.

    + 2+ years of experience mentoring junior staff.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience working on industrial/high-tech projects such as laboratories, data centers, semiconductors, or aerospace/government projects.

    + Bachelor of Science in Architecture.

    + 3+ years of experience with projects for LANL or Sandia.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 12 PM, with a flexible arrangement allowing two days in the office. The role is based in either Albuquerque or Santa Fe, supporting projects for LANL and Sandia National Labs.     This is a Permanent position based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $175000.00/yr.

     

    Hybrid work schedule - 2 days in office 3 weeks of PTO Yearly performance bonus based on profitability of company Maxson pays the premiums of medical insurance for the employee 401(K) Short term & long term disability
