2nd shift 6:00PM-2:30AM (2 openings) with $1.50/hr shift premium $22.50/hr

3rd shift 1:30AM -10:00AM (2 openings) with $2.50/hr shift premium $23.50/hr

Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will split your time equally between working on the plant floor and in a lab setting, ensuring that our standards for food safety and quality are met consistently.

Responsibilities

+ Perform inspections including pre-operative and food safety, document and communicate results.

+ Conduct daily operating inspections to ensure compliance with GMPs and USDA requirements.

+ Perform magnet and metal detector record checks and inform the supervisor of any deficiencies.

+ Conduct ATP swab tests, including daily and weekly line swabs.

+ Calibrate lab equipment including lab scales, pH meters, and salt analyzers.

+ Conduct organic start-up tests ensuring the documentation of no unauthorized cleaner use, and triple rinsing with pH 7 on the line.

+ Daily review of previous day's HACCP records.

+ Change thermometer recorder charts as needed.

+ Perform quality audits including quality systems, production scales, and salt analyzers, and document and communicate results.

+ Conduct in-bound checks and verify COAs to meet requirements.

+ Maintain stock of laboratory and production supplies as directed.

+ Liaise with USDA representatives.

+ Distribute weekly code date sheets promptly.

+ Report and follow up on food safety and food quality concerns.

+ Perform pizza line coverage checks.

+ Notify the supervisor of all downtimes.

+ Enforce all food safety PPE/GMP requirements and report any concerns.

+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in quality check and inspection, particularly in the food industry.

+ Knowledge of GMP standards.

+ Background in biology and chemistry courses.

+ Skills in quality assurance and control, with a laboratory focus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma with science classes and/or lab courses with 6 months to 1+ years of manufacturing experience in the food-related industry.

+ B.S. degree in Life Sciences with no industry experience required.

+ Associate's degree in Life Sciences with 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience in the food-related industry.

+ 6 months to 1+ years of GMP experience, open to related environments like ISO and GLP.

+ 0 to 2 years of quality experience is ideal but not mandatory.

Work Environment

The position involves working 50% in a lab setting and 50% on the plant floor, where frozen pizza is produced. The environment is cold, and responsibilities include performing lab tests such as salt, pH, yeast, mold, air plates, and ATP testing (swabbing). The role is more computer-based with approvals required before production.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.25/hr.
