Job Title: Radiological Dose Engineer
Job Description
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the development of software and engineering analyses under the guidance of senior engineering staff. The role requires a strong foundation in general software development and problem-solving skills. The candidate should possess a working knowledge of evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, with a focus on the nuclear or mechanical disciplines. The individual will assist in developing calculations to evaluate plant performance, safety, and reliability. Adherence to project Quality Assurance procedures is necessary, along with excellent client interface and communication skills, and the ability to coordinate and interface with other disciplines.
Responsibilities
+ Gather data and information for analysis.
+ Manipulate data for input into analysis.
+ Perform standard computations and analyses.
+ Construct Radiological Dose and Atmospheric Dispersion models.
+ Investigate and resolve issues/problems.
+ Check straightforward computations.
+ Perform programming tasks.
+ Confirm project requirements, both inputs and outputs, with supervisor or client.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in nuclear power and relevant software such as RadTrad, Scale/Origen, Microshield, and Hotspot.
+ Technical knowledge of nuclear or mechanical engineering disciplines.
+ Ability to work effectively on project teams with other engineers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Nuclear Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification in nuclear engineering.
+ Strong client interface and communication skills.
+ Ability to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
Work Environment
The work environment will involve collaborating with project teams and utilizing advanced engineering software and technologies to perform tasks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
