Job Title: Laboratory Assistant I - 3rd Shift (Micro)Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Assistant on the 3rd shift, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the testing and analysis of clinical lab specimens. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that is instrumental in helping the country during these challenging times.

Responsibilities

+ Pull samples out of storage or walk-in fridges and deliver them to technicians for retesting.

+ Label and pour specimens for analysis, handling approximately 200-300 samples at once.

+ Scan samples into the tracking system and ensure accurate data entry of specimen and patient information.

+ Receive and sort clinical lab specimens, preparing them for testing and analysis.

+ Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance as needed.

+ Troubleshoot any issues related to specimens.

+ Replenish test bench supplies as necessary.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

+ Complete record logs and perform administrative duties as requested.

+ Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a medical or laboratory setting is preferred, including academic experience.

+ High school diploma or GED is required.

+ Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.

+ Comfortable handling human samples.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Must be at least 18 years old.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with a supportive team of 8-9 lab assistants. The schedule is Sunday to Thursday, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Enjoy two paid fifteen-minute breaks and one unpaid thirty-minute break. This is a contract-only position with potential for permanent roles based on performance. The role involves light lifting and carrying, with the ability to lift and push 10-15 pounds. Spend a significant portion of the shift on your feet, rotating between different areas, including spending a few hours in walk-in fridges. This is a Contract position based out of Raritan, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
