The Test Engineer will support the development, qualification, and acceptance of advanced avionics systems for spacecraft applications. The Hardware Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting test campaigns to ensure flight readiness with a focus on environmental testing, functional testing of mission-critical hardware, as well as EMI/EMC testing.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and execute comprehensive test campaigns to ensure flight readiness.
+ Conduct environmental testing, including vibration and shock testing, to qualify hardware.
+ Perform functional testing of mission-critical hardware.
+ Execute EMI/EMC testing to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
+ Document all testing activities and results, creating detailed test reports.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure testing aligns with project goals and standards.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in hardware testing, especially in space flight applications.
+ Experience with EMI/EMC testing and environmental testing.
+ Strong technical writing skills for test planning and reporting.
+ Knowledge of industry standards such as NASA, ESA, MIL-STD, DO-160.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BSEE or related degree.
+ Experience in testing hardware for defense applications is a plus.
Work Environment
The company employs approximately 40 people, with the majority being engineers. This position marks the first Hardware Test Engineer on staff, offering significant ownership responsibilities and the opportunity to set precedents for future testing processes within the company.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $73.00/hr.
