Job Title: Dispensing Technician
Job Description
As a Dispensing Technician, you will play a critical role in a production-oriented environment, responsible for the accurate preparation and distribution of medications. You will primarily focus on filling prescriptions, managing canisters for dispensing machines, and ensuring the precise matching and packaging of drugs to labels. This role requires you to be on your feet and actively engaged throughout your shift, leveraging a canister management program to streamline operations.
Responsibilities
+ Perform 100% of the filling tasks, including handling cards, bulk items, and toting medications.
+ Rotate through the canister refill area to manage and fill canisters for dispensing machines.
+ Accurately pull and match drugs to labels, scan labels and bottles, and package medications appropriately.
+ Utilize a canister management program effectively by clicking on designated buttons to facilitate the workflow.
Essential Skills
+ Licensed Pharmacy Technician with the State of Kansas.
+ At least 6 months of pharmacy experience.
+ Basic computer skills to operate necessary programs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 6+ months of experience in retail or long-term care (LTC) filling environments is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is a long-term care, closed-door pharmacy resembling a large pharmaceutical warehouse. It is highly production-oriented, requiring standing 100% of the time.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
