Adecco Search is ACTIVELY recruiting for a 1st Shift CNC Lathe Machinist in Erie, PA. Our client is a growing global plastic injection mold company. The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC Lathe Machines to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. The machinist ensures efficient production workflows while maintaining strict tolerances and quality standards. Key Responsibilities for the CNC Lathe Machinist in Erie PA.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, work-orders, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining requirements.
• Select appropriate tooling, inserts, fixtures, and holding devices for each job.
• Program CNC lathe machines (e.g. G-code or conversational programming) or modify existing programs to optimize machining operations.
• Perform setups: mount workpieces, set up tooling and fixtures, apply offsets, adjust speeds, feeds, and depths of cut.
• Operate CNC lathe machines to perform operations like turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving, parting, drilling, etc.
• Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or deviations; make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to inspect workpieces—both in?process and final.
• Maintain production logs and inspection paperwork; document setups and tool-life/usage as required.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance of machines and tooling; ensure machinery is clean and safe.
• Troubleshoot tooling, fixturing, and machine issues; collaborate with maintenance or engineering on machine improvements.
• Meet production schedules, maintain output levels, and adhere to quality standards and tolerances.
• Maintain safety standards; follow company procedures, safety rules, and housekeeping guidelines.
Requirements for the CNC Lathe Machinist in Erie, PA.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; further technical schooling (machining, CNC, tool & die) preferred.
• Solid experience operating CNC lathes—preferably in a precision tool or mold/tooling environment.
• Strong G-code or other relevant CNC programming skills.
• Good understanding of tool/material properties, machining processes, speeds, feeds.
• Proficiency with print reading, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled with precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team; time management and ability to prioritize jobs.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, handle heavy fixtures or workpieces, perform manual tasks.
• Familiarity with safety practices and maintaining clean, organized work areas.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications (if applicable)
• Experience with specific lathe brands/machinery used at F&S Tool Inc. (e.g. Okuma, Haas, Mori-Seiki, etc.)
• Experience in mold, die, or tooling setups, especially maintaining tight tolerances.
• Ability to do first-article inspections or prove-out of new programs.
• Familiarity with jigs, fixtures, tool life tracking.
• May require overtime or shift work depending on production needs.

**Pay Details:** $75,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
