Accounting Specialist
**Location:** Grand Prairie, TX
**Pay Rate:** $30/hour
**Schedule:** Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Onsite
Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our client’s Finance team in a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with the Controller, Assistant Controller, and Cost Accountant to ensure accurate financial analysis, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll and manage all related reporting, reconciliation, and follow-up tasks
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries; reconcile and analyze assigned general ledger accounts
• Assist with cost accounting activities and special projects
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Cross-train in other accounting areas to provide team coverage as needed
• Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit requirements and documentation
• Perform other administrative and accounting-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet strict deadlines
• Flexible and dependable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Experience with Kronos Payroll, Coupa, SAP, or AS400
• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting
Top 3 Must-Haves:
1. Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
2. Ability to maintain and enforce strict processes to meet regulatory demands
3. Capability to prioritize and multitask while meeting reporting deadlines
Technical Skills:
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
• SAP and Kronos experience (preferred)
**Pay Details:** $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
