    Job Title: Driveline Project Lead

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated Driveline Engineer to support HTIS (High Time in Service) Quality Projects. The successful candidate will utilize DFSS and 8D processes to meet aggressive timelines concerning warranty spend and failure rate reduction targets. The role involves evaluating high warranty spend and failure rate subsystems, focusing on design, supplier quality, or manufacturing defects.

    Responsibilities

    + Rapidly work through DFSS phases: Define, Characterize, Optimize, Verify, including root cause identification and verification.

    + Evaluate high warranty spend and failure rate subsystems focusing on design-related issues or supplier quality or manufacturing defect-related issues.

    + Analyze warranty data and trends, along with part returns, to identify root causes.

    + Identify and verify root causes, implement corrective actions (ICA/PCA), and prevent recurrence.

    + Design, execute, or coordinate analytical and physical testing from component bench level to full powertrain/vehicle testing to identify root cause, replicate quality issues, and validate corrective actions.

    + Communicate project status and results to management, interfacing regularly with quality and core engineers.

    + Develop relationships with dealerships and fleets to resolve quality issues related to warranty and repairs.

    + Understand different types of repairs, set up work plans, and aggressively reduce timelines to fix issues.

    + Lead or attend team meetings.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in warranty and failure mode analysis preferred.

    + Proven problem-solving skills in handling customer concerns and resolutions.

    + Automotive Powertrain experience/knowledge, with a preference for transmission and driveline highly preferred.

    + Strong project management skills.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves collaboration with a team of engineers and quality professionals. The role requires regular communication with management and external partners such as dealerships and fleets. The position demands a proactive and dynamic approach to managing projects and resolving quality issues efficiently.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Livonia, Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $44.50/hr.
