We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team. You will be actively involved in all phases of projects, from the initial design to the municipal approval process. Collaborating closely with the project manager and design team, you will provide technical expertise and support. Your responsibilities will include creating comprehensive site plans and utilizing Civil 3D and AutoCAD on a daily basis. The majority of your work will focus on private land development projects, although there may also be opportunities to work on municipal projects.
Responsibilities
+ Perform a variety of tasks related to civil, environmental, and transportation engineering, as well as site planning, surveying, and landscape architecture under close supervision.
+ Utilize computer and engineering software, specifically AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
+ Design portions of projects under supervision.
+ Assist in field surveying and construction observation.
+ Research literature and catalogs, estimate quantities, and draft reports required for project permits.
+ Attend meetings with the project engineer.
+ Undertake other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
+ At least 3 years of experience in Civil Engineering/Design.
+ At least 3 years of experience with Civil 3D Design.
+ Experience in land development projects.
+ Proficiency in grading, utilities design, and roadway designs.
+ Possession of an EIT or PE license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PE license or ability to obtain one within a year.
+ Experience in transportation or municipal design.
Work Environment
You will work in a small, team-oriented, and collaborative office environment. The core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, with a flexible schedule. Ideally, you will work from the office daily, but a hybrid work schedule may be available if you live more than an hour away, with the expectation of coming to the office 1-2 times per month. Initial training will require daily office attendance for the first 3-4 weeks. Local travel to job sites may be needed. Our team offers a great opportunity for growth and advancement, with potential for moving into project management roles. The position is hourly paid, with opportunities for overtime and annual discretionary bonuses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
