    We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our innovative manufacturing team. The primary focus of this position is to read and interpret wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical systems on vehicles. This role involves working on custom orders for clients, leading to both straightforward and complex design changes.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret wiring diagrams for vehicle electrical systems.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues within electrical systems.

    + Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality design and functionality.

    + Support prototyping and production by building and testing wiring harnesses.

    + Perform on-vehicle testing and provide production support.

    + Design and document wire harnesses using software such as Visio and Solidworks Electrical.

    + Convert older drawings to meet current standards and create new part files using CAD systems.

    + Create assemblies, mating, and drawing files, including views and bills of materials.

    + Utilize diagnostic tools for electrical system troubleshooting.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical system design and troubleshooting.

    + Experience with low voltage DC applications (12V, 24V systems).

    + Ability to size wiring, fuses, and other electrical components.

    + Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and test lights.

    + Experience with wire harness design and documentation.

    + Proficiency in CAD systems and 3D design engineering.

    + Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and product development.

    + Experience in automotive or heavy industrial equipment design.

    + Ability to create and interpret wiring schematics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

    + 3+ years of experience in designing or troubleshooting electrical components in a manufacturing environment.

    + Experience with Codesys software and IFM hardware.

    + Knowledge of ladder logic and function block programming.

    + Ability to work collaboratively and incorporate feedback effectively.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is dynamic, involving both engineering lab settings and the manufacturing floor. This role requires active participation on the manufacturing floor to take measurements and collaborate with the team. The engineering design lab is highly collaborative and feedback-driven, promoting innovation and teamwork.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Huntsville, Alabama.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
