    Overview

     

    Pekin Memorial Hospital d/b/a Carle Health Pekin Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist in Pekin, Illinois to perform clinical laboratory testing and assist in promoting a quality of service based on accuracy and timeliness in reporting results.     Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree (or the foreign equivalent) in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.

    Responsibilities

    Perform clinical laboratory testing and assist in promoting a quality of service based on accuracy and timeliness in reporting results. Responsible for assisting the department manager in the effective operation of the laboratory through the coordination of all activities in their respective responsibilities. Determine acceptability of specimens within guidelines. Follow test protocol and perform test procedures with care and accuracy. Perform and record competency assessment of testing personnel as delegated by medical director. Teach both procedure and theory to students, peers, and new employees. Recognize implausible results, unusual tests reactions, errors, and instrument malfunctions and investigating/problem solving. Enter data results and review data entry for correctness prior to verifying results to minimize errors. Address unresolved method & equipment problems by utilizing manufacturer resources. Communicate all information necessary to subsequent shifts for completion of testing process or problem resolution.

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The compensation range for this position is $30.62per hour - $52.67per hour.
