Job Title: Manufacturing Process EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead the vertical startup of high-speed manufacturing lines. This role focuses on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to meet business objectives within a 12-week timeline. You will provide hands-on engineering support during startup and post-go-live phases, ensuring seamless transitions and minimizing production disruptions.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the vertical startup of high-speed manufacturing lines to achieve business objectives.
+ Develop and support documentation, training plans, and knowledge transfer for operations.
+ Serve as on-site engineering lead during startup and post-go-live phases, providing hands-on support.
+ Resolve equipment, software, and process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
+ Monitor OEE and other key performance indicators to drive performance improvements.
+ Conduct loss landscape analysis and develop glidepaths for performance targets.
+ Facilitate daily stand-up meetings to align cross-functional teams on glidepath execution.
+ Collaborate with local and global teams to ensure sustainable performance gains.
+ Partner with site operations, quality, maintenance, global design engineers, and external vendors.
+ Provide technical expertise and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related field).
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing and capital equipment integration.
+ Hands-on experience with vertical startups, commissioning, and validation of automated systems.
+ Strong knowledge of GMP, EHS standards, LOTO, machine safeguarding, and regulated manufacturing environments.
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues using data-driven approaches.
+ Background in medical device, pharmaceutical, or FMCG manufacturing environments is preferred.
+ Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, centerlining, and OEE tools.
+ Proficiency in scientific problem-solving methods (e.g., DoE, KPIV/KPOV analysis).
+ Proven track record of success in startup programs or plant ramp-ups.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Sumter, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
