Sterile Compounding Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Technician to join our team in a closed-door pharmacy environment. This role involves mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques while ensuring adherence to all documented instructions, warnings, and procedures for safe and effective drug preparation.
Responsibilities
+ Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using sterile compounding techniques.
+ Adhere to federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards for sanitation, testing, and environmental monitoring.
+ Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, and tracking drug items.
+ Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for patient profiles.
+ Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs.
+ Verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks.
+ Assist with on-call responsibilities as needed.
+ Complete competency verification plans upon hire and annually.
+ Maintain confidentiality of company and patient/client information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Essential Skills
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
+ Experience in IV compounding and sterile processing.
+ Minimum of 2 years of sterile compounding experience preferred.
+ Proficiency with Windows and Office software.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities.
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ State registration as a pharmacy technician.
+ Experience in home infusion therapy preferred.
+ National Certification as a pharmacy technician is a plus.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
