    Job Description

    This position involves performing a comprehensive range of tasks related to laboratory testing, analysis, and equipment calibration. The role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of conducting various chemical tests and maintaining laboratory equipment according to established protocols.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform laboratory testing on oil samples derived from the refinery, including wet chemistry tests such as viscosity, titrations, colorimeter analysis, ash testing, octant analysis, water-solubility, and density.

    + Conduct ICP, XRF, and GC-ECD testing.

    + Maintain, understand, and utilize laboratory equipment in accordance with laboratory policy.

    + Manage laboratory cleaning, stock supplies, and handle chemical waste safely.

    + Identify and procure components for maintenance support and repairs on laboratory equipment.

    + Prepare equipment for cleaning and mechanical repairs, and maintain all necessary records.

    + Perform regular maintenance schedules to ensure equipment operates efficiently.

    + Evaluate laboratory procedures and practice safe working methods to ensure a secure work environment.

    + Review reports on oil samples to identify variations or trends in finished products.

    + Perform data entry and filing on a daily basis.

    SHIFT:

    Will be one of the two below schedules. Manager still finalizing. These are 4 10’s schedules, designed so the candidate will work one weekend and then have off the next weekend.

     

    + Week 1:Sun - Wed 1pm -11pm

    + Week 2: Monday - Thursday:1pm - 11pm

    OR

    + Week 1: Tues- Friday 1pm or 11pm

    + Week 2: Wed - Sat 1pm -11pm

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in STEM (Chemistry, Biology, etc.).

    + Previous work experience, demonstrating prior employment.

    + Team player mentality.

    Work Environment

    This role is based in a laboratory environment where you will test samples from the refinery. Technicians will not be required to retrieve samples from outside. The primary task is testing used oil and refining it to be reusable, including some wastewater testing. The work environment may have strong oil odors, which may not be suitable for those sensitive to such scents. The lab schedule offers flexibility, with rotating weeks of Sun-Wed and Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri and Wed-Sat, typically covering 40 hours per week. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, fire-resistant pants, shirts, and safety boots are provided. The team consists of four lab technicians and a manager, with a close-knit and supportive culture that emphasizes professional development.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
