This role supports Powder Coating Technologies within the Heavy Equipment market segment. The technician will be responsible for conducting routine experiments, recording results, and acquiring fundamental knowledge of raw materials. The role involves using lab equipment to prepare powder samples, conducting basic testing, and accurately capturing and recording data.
Responsibilities
+ Demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills.
+ Maintain an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) to document all formulations, processes, and testing data.
+ Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software programs to record and report data.
+ Manage time efficiently and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Maintain clean work areas and participate in Housekeeping and Safety programs as required.
+ Perform sample preparation and testing according to established standards.
+ Understand and follow all Work Instructions, SOPs, and ITMs after being trained and signed off to use equipment.
+ Collaborate with managers and chemists to understand project needs and priorities.
+ Effectively communicate project timelines and results, assisting team members to meet project deadlines.
+ Comply with all safety regulations and follow all company and site safety rules, including those specific to the powder lab.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in laboratory, quality control, chemistry, and quality assurance.
+ Experience with coating and documentation writing.
+ Knowledge of basic math skills.
+ Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis.
+ Familiarity with scientific principles, products, and/or processes.
+ Technical understanding and knowledge in industrial chemistries.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.
+ 1-4 years of experience in a laboratory preferred.
+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
+ Capable of working in areas with toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials.
+ Ability to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and wear a respirator as required.
+ Valid driver's license required.
+ Ability to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
+ Some travel to other locations, meetings, and/or seminars is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
