Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This hybrid role blends traditional electrical engineering design work with hands-on testing, production troubleshooting, and customer support. You will be responsible for designing and supporting electrical medical devices, including analog and digital circuits, custom PCB layouts, and troubleshooting systems from prototype through production. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, regulated environment and is passionate about building reliable, safe, and innovative medical devices.
Responsibilities
+ Design analog and digital circuits for electrical medical devices in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
+ Create and update schematics, PCBs, BOMs, and documentation for new and existing products.
+ Participate in system-level architecture design and integration of electromechanical components.
+ Evaluate and select components, ensuring long-term availability and compliance.
+ Develop and execute test plans for circuit boards and complete medical devices, including functional, environmental, and compliance testing.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve design or performance issues at the component, board, or system level.
+ Maintain test equipment and develop custom test setups when needed.
+ Respond to and resolve electrical issues from the production floor, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing timelines.
+ Assist with the transition of designs from R&D to production, including DFM/DFA improvements and test fixture development.
+ Train production staff on the electrical aspects of devices as needed.
+ Serve as a technical resource to customer service and sales, answering customer questions related to the electrical functioning of our medical devices.
+ Investigate and resolve customer complaints or field issues related to electrical performance or reliability.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
+ 4+ years of relevant experience.
+ Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
+ Hands-on experience with PCB design, layout, and debugging (Altium or similar).
+ Proficient with lab tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators).
+ Familiarity with medical device design standards or ability to learn quickly.
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with regulated environments is ideal.
+ Familiarity with 3rd party EMC/EMI testing parties.
+ Experience with firmware code is a bonus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
