    Job Title: Electrical Systems Technician - Shipboard

    Job Description

    The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and operational testing of the electrical systems aboard ships, in support of the Refueling Complex Overhaul program.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, repair, and conduct operational tests on shipboard electrical systems.

    + Overhaul and maintain mechanical ventilation systems, including cooling coils, preheaters, and ventilation ducting.

    + Read and interpret complex drawings related to chill water and ventilation systems.

    + Conduct inspections and hydrostatic testing of mechanical systems.

    + Assess and repair corrosion, as well as replace components such as constant flow regulators, solenoids, temperature regulating valves, and isolation valves.

    + Mentor, train, and provide guidance to coworkers and customers on shipboard systems.

    + Utilize US Navy 3-M processes and documentation, including NSTM 300 and Navy Tag-out User Manual.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in reading technical drawings and Mechanical Technical Work Documents.

    + Hands-on experience with US Navy 3-M processes and documentation.

    + Experience in troubleshooting and repairing shipboard ventilation systems.

    + Ability to mentor, train, and teach others.

    + Proficiency in welding, including structural, steel, and carbon steel welding techniques.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with naval ventilation systems is preferred.

    + Ability to perform both vertical and horizontal welding.

    + Familiarity with shipyard operations, print reading, and preventative maintenance.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $28.00/hr.
