The Commissioning practice within the Advisory Solutions group is comprised of architects and engineers providing specialty services to support our clients and projects. As a Commissioning & Energy Specialist on our team in Austin, Fort Worth, or Houston, TX, you will participate in both onsite and office activities to support Commissioning and Energy projects.
You will have the opportunity to lead and perform all commissioning related activities to include testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), equipment and systems start-up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Projects that you will engage with will include commissioning for new construction and renovations, existing building commissioning, as well as asset management projects.
You will have the responsibility of working directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve the best possible outcome for the owner/client with a focus on operational performance and efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in energy projects including audits, efficiency studies and renewable energy development focused on improving performance for clients.

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
* At least 5 years of experience in commissioning, design or construction management with a focus on mechanical, electrical, plumbing or building envelope systems
* Working knowledge of building code requirements
* US Citizenship
* Ability to travel up to 50% - Travel may include multi-week field assignments and periodic long-term assignments may be required
Ideally, you’ll also have:
* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical or building envelope systems
* Understanding of the Construction process
* Experience in mission critical/data center construction and/or operation
* Industry recognized commissioning certification
* Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer-In-Training Certification
* Industry recognized energy management certification
* Current or past security clearance
* LEED or other sustainability certification
