Located in Chester, NY

Pay: $90,000-$105,000

Shift: 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assign tasks to a team of mechanics, welders, and fabricators.

• Make repairs on trucks/trailers

• Enforce safety protocols

• Inventory management and equipment maintenance.

Other Responsibilities:

• Monitor project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.

• Conduct quality control checks before trailers leave the shop.

• Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in trailer repair, fabrication, or related heavy-equipment maintenance such as excavating, construction equipment, etc. Strong preference of 5 or more years (Work/experience on Detroit and/or Cummins trucks is GREAT TO HAVE)

• Leadership experience is a MUST

• Strong experience with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with shop tools and diagnostic equipment.

• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and customers.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. CDL A with Tank and hazmat preferred but NOT required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical wiring, and suspension components.

• Familiarity with welding processes (MIG/TIG/Stick) and metal fabrication techniques.

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Forklift or heavy-lifting equipment certification.

• Basic computer skills for work order management and inventory tracking.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

• Vacation - 1 week after the first year, 2 weeks after the second year and 3 weeks after the fifth year.
