Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Lead to oversee evening shift operations. This role is critical to maintaining efficient material handling, site coordination, and contractor management. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, organized, and capable of leading by example.

Responsibilities

+ Perform physical tasks such as hand-sorting materials and general cleanup activities.

+ Serve as the primary liaison between site management and contractors to receive and relay daily operational instructions.

+ Coordinate job tasks and ensure smooth execution of warehouse activities.

+ Train and onboard new contractors, ensuring they understand site protocols and job duties.

+ Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with company standards.

+ Support weekend operations as needed.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of working in an industrial or construction environment.

+ Prior experience in warehouse operations or recycling environments.

+ Strong leadership and communication skills.

+ Ability to work night shifts and flexible hours, including weekends.

+ Comfortable with physical labor and working in an industrial setting.

+ **Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.**

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience training or mentoring team members is a plus.

+ Prior managerial experience is required.

+ Experience in material handling, troubleshooting, supervision, and construction management.

+ Must have ~2-3 years of experience working in an outdoor environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is at a steel, metal, and auto recycling company with both indoor production areas and a large outdoor yard. Expect to work with heavy machinery, moving parts, loud noises, and in dusty conditions. The dress code includes steel toe shoes, pants, a plain t-shirt or sweater, and a vest provided by the company.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
