    Job Title: Formulation Technician

    Job Description

    As a Formulation Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of in vitro diagnostic reagents, controls, and calibrators. You will be responsible for manufacturing buffers and simple bulk reagents while participating in process improvement projects at a leading site for diagnostic products.

    Responsibilities

    + Review all area documents.

    + Manage the Work Notification System (WNS).

    + Assist in the manufacture of controls and calibrators and complete batch records following cGMPs.

    + Perform in-process assays using equipment such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, and clinical analyzers.

    + Weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals as required.

    + Conduct product filtrations and clean and steam steel tanks (CIP/SIP).

    + Prepare glassware and steel tanks for sterilization in the autoclave and operate the autoclave.

    + Maintain lab equipment including pumps, pH meters, and flow meters.

    + Keep department lead or manager updated on all issues.

    + Monitor stocks of common lab supplies.

    + Perform other job duties as required.

    + Respond to emergency notifications.

    + Work flexible hours, including weekends.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred with at least 2 years of lab experience.

    + Basic lab skills and knowledge of safety precautions.

    + Familiarity with Quality System Regulations.

    + Experience with potentially hazardous chemicals and human source materials.

    + Ability to lift 25 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

    + Compliance with GMP, QSRs, ISO, and IVD regulations.

    + Proficiency in English with the ability to understand written and oral instructions.

    + Mathematical proficiency in basic operations including fractions and decimals.

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proven track record of following policies and procedures and meeting project timelines independently.

    + Ability to multitask, prioritize, plan, and forecast multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Team-oriented with the ability to influence others to achieve results.

    + Self-motivated with a strong bias for action.

    + Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production equipment within the department to prevent or correct mechanical breakdowns. You will set up and tear down work centers, troubleshoot machine issues, and maintain a clean and safe workplace. The role requires adherence to GMP, ISO guidelines, and company SOPs, and involves a shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

    This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
