    Job Description

    Join a dedicated team in a family-owned business, specializing in machining stainless steel plate products and flanges for various industries. Your role will focus on shipping tasks, ensuring products are prepared and transported efficiently and accurately.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate sit-down forklifts to transport steel plates.

    + Palletize products and ensure they are securely strapped for transportation.

    + Follow customer orders accurately during the shipping process.

    + Read and measure materials using tape measures and micrometers, converting fractions to decimals as needed.

    + Prepare packages, ensuring they are correctly sized for shipment.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    + Complete necessary shipping paperwork and bills of lading.

    + Measure and inspect steel plates for imperfections, performing grinding and deburring as required.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ years of experience in forklift operation and shipping.

    + Proficiency in reading and measuring using tape measures up to 1/32 inch.

    + Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.

    + Experience in palletizing and handling materials in a warehouse environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

    + Capability to read and interpret instructions, drawings, and prints.

    + Experience with shipping paperwork and inventory management.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a tight-knit, family-owned business with approximately 40 employees. The environment includes a mix of older and state-of-the-art machinery. Employees should be comfortable working outdoors in varying temperatures. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an unpaid lunch break from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
