Job Title: Shop Foreman
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Paving Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team. This role is critical to maintaining the performance and safety of our paving fleet, including asphalt pavers, rollers, milling machines, and other heavy construction equipment. Responsibilities
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on paving equipment.
+ Perform routine maintenance and preventive service to minimize downtime.
+ Troubleshoot issues in the field and provide on-site repairs when necessary.
+ Maintain accurate service records and logs for all equipment.
+ Collaborate with operators and supervisors to schedule repairs and prioritize urgent needs.
+ Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
+ Assist with equipment setup and calibration for paving operations.
+ Order parts and manage inventory as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in diesel engine repair, diagnostics, and schematics.
+ Proficiency in electrical and hydraulic systems.
+ Experience with paving equipment and heavy construction machinery.
+ Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to perform inspections, welding, and fabrication.
+ Strong management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
+ 3+ years of experience working with paving or heavy construction equipment.
+ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
+ Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.
+ Valid driver’s license (CDL nice to have).
+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
+ Welding and fabrication skills a plus.

Work Environment
You will work primarily in a shop environment, with potential deployment in a field service truck during the busy season. The role requires flexibility to work outdoors and involves physical activity, such as lifting up to 75 lbs. Safety and adherence to standards are prioritized in all operations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
