Job Title: Machine Operator Trainee
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Machine Operator Trainees in a facility that specializes in manufacturing stainless steel tubing. This role involves assisting and learning the operations of machinery used to refine and perfect tubing and pipes. The job requires manual labor and involves working around loud and rotating equipment. Candidates will engage in a labor-intensive environment, necessitating physical endurance as they stand, move, and manage tubing throughout the day.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in operating machinery to straighten and refine stainless steel tubing.
+ Engage in manual labor, including moving, shoving, pushing, and pulling tubing to ensure machines are set up correctly.
+ Receive bundles of products with work orders attached and execute tasks as outlined in the work order.
+ Input task completion information into the computer system for the subsequent production steps.
+ Explain in detail the type of work and machinery operated during the interview process.
Essential Skills
+ At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
+ Ability to understand work orders and manufacturing processes.
+ Mechanical manufacturing experience or experience in skilled trades such as plumbing or carpentry.
+ Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet all day.
+ Experience with machine operation, assembly, or production work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with micrometers or calipers is a plus.
+ Ability to detail past work experiences and machinery operated.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a very large, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility where conditions can vary from loud to hot, depending on the area. The position is based on a 2nd shift schedule from 2pm to 12:30am, Monday through Thursday, with some potential for overtime on Fridays, though primarily a 40-hour work week. Training will occur on the 1st shift from 4am to 2:30pm for about a month, with flexibility to start directly on the 2nd shift if necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
