Job Title: Waterjet Operator

Job Description

As a Waterjet Operator, you will be responsible for accurately processing metal materials to fulfill customer orders. You will ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition and that the work area remains orderly. You will also be tasked with entering required information accurately and performing additional tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

+ Apply metal to customer orders and process materials according to work order specifications.

+ Maintain processing equipment and area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.

+ Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

+ Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.

+ Set up equipment to run material according to setup notes and work order specifications.

+ Verify product specifications and record measurements as per written instructions.

+ Communicate with sales representatives regarding order changes or clarifications.

+ Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

+ Enter and delete material identification tags as per instructions.

+ Assist in packaging materials according to work instructions and orders.

+ Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.

+ Operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements accurately.

+ Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.

+ Provide feedback regarding machine efficiency and product quality.

+ Complete job responsibilities safely, avoiding unsafe situations.

+ Train others as required.

+ Participate in activities related to lean manufacturing and quality improvement.

Essential Skills

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Ability to read and write.

+ Basic math skills.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

+ 2+ years of saw operation experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments.

+ Experience with waterjet operations, especially around metals like sheet metal and aluminum.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.

+ Forklift operation experience.

+ Experience using handheld measuring tools.

+ Computer literacy.

+ Experience with blueprint reading and inventory control.

Work Environment

The position is based in a warehouse and production environment. You will work with various equipment, including waterjet machines, saws, cranes, and forklifts, in a fast-paced setting. Proper safety attire is required to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr.
