    Job Title: CNC Setup Operator

    Job Description

    The CNC Setup Operator is responsible for efficiently handling a variety of materials, tooling, and machine operations. This role primarily involves working with FANUC and HAAS programs, using stainless steel and aluminum as main materials. Key tasks include setting up/programming the machine for various parts, selecting the correct tools, and inspecting in-process parts using appropriate equipment. Additionally, the operator must interpret engineering drawings, set up information, tool lists, and sketches to establish new and legacy jobs for JMC's and VMC's. Responsibilities also include updating layout information, tool lists, and setup documentation.

    Responsibilities

    + Handle a variety of materials, tooling, and machine operations using FANUC and HAAS programs.

    + Set up and program machines for various parts and select appropriate tools.

    + Inspect in-process parts using proper equipment.

    + Interpret engineering drawings, setup information, tool lists, and sketches.

    + Update layout information, tool lists, and setup documentation.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of CNC setup experience.

    + Proficiency with reading blueprints and schematics.

    + Proficiency with calipers and micrometers.

    + Basic understanding of HAAS and FANUC controllers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with vertical and horizontal mills.

    + Knowledge of lathes with rotaries.

    + Experience with Master Cam or GIBBS.

    + FANUC type controller experience.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a small machine shop with 13 people, fostering a team-oriented and entrepreneurial atmosphere. Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their part in the development process, wearing multiple hats as needed. Shifts available are 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday (with optional overtime until 5:00 pm), and 2nd shift from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The environment values teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
