Material Handler
Pay Rate - $20 - $22/hr. (1st shift)
Job Description
As a Material Handler, you will be involved in all aspects of seed production, both indoors and outdoors. This role includes processing and packaging seeds, as well as planting and pollinating activities. You will play a critical role in maintaining equipment and ensuring the accuracy of data collection and inventory management.
Responsibilities
+ Engage in indoor seed processing and packaging activities such as receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling, and warehousing seeds.
+ Participate in outdoor activities including planting, pollinating, note-taking, data entry, and hand harvest.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment within assigned areas.
+ Utilize electronic data collection devices in field and laboratory settings.
+ Organize, move, and store seeds, maintaining inventory accuracy with electronic systems.
+ Adhere to task and safety instructions and support site safety requirements.
+ Work extended hours during peak seasons.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent GED.
+ 1-3 years of experience in seed production or a related field.
+ Proficiency with MS Office/Excel and standard computer systems.
+ Basic mechanical ability and understanding of equipment maintenance.
+ Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with production processes and material handling.
+ Capability to troubleshoot and operate equipment.

Work Environment
Work involves both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring periods of bending, lifting, sitting, and standing. Extended hours may be necessary during peak seasons, with adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
