    Job Title: Corn Sorter

    Job Description

    As a Corn Sorter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our corn products by safely sorting corn, removing discard, and returning cobs that need re-husking. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to our mission of helping farmers feed the world while protecting the planet.

    Responsibilities

    + Abide by safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    + Follow lock out/tag out, E-Stop, and other equipment safety processes.

    + Maintain cleanliness of work environment, including sweeping and removing debris.

    + Sort corn to maintain seed quality, identifying off-type ears and other defects.

    + Sort discard and waste, re-husking corn as needed while distributing to proper locations.

    + Work from a standing or elevated seat position in front of a moving conveyor belt.

    + Assist with kernel cleaning process during material changes.

    + Report accidents, near misses, or safety violations promptly.

    + Participate in incident and accident investigations as necessary.

    + Maintain cleanliness of break rooms, adhering to posted expectations.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to work with hands at a quick pace.

    + Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.

    + Experience working on a moving conveyor belt.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to walk up and down stairs.

    + Capacity to stand for prolonged times.

    + Awareness of airborne allergies due to corn husk.

    + Understanding that watching a moving belt can aggravate motion sickness.

    Work Environment

     

    The work schedule consists of either 'front half' or 'back half' team shifts, totaling 42 hours a week. The dress code requires long pants, closed-toe shoes, and shirts covering shoulders, with safety glasses and gloves provided. The workplace is smoke-free and tobacco-free, with potential exposure to common allergens such as corn dust.

    This is a Contract position based out of Worthington, Indiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
