About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations and support strategic financial decision-making. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial reporting and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead monthly accounting close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
+ Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
+ Manage annual financial audits with external CPA firms.
+ Oversee inventory accuracy and reporting.
+ Support operational teams with performance metrics and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls.
+ Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
+ Prepare budgets and monitor performance against financial targets.
+ Generate financial forecasts, reports, and ad-hoc analyses.
+ Manage daily accounting functions: invoicing, A/R, A/P, procurement, general ledger, and payroll.
+ Oversee payroll transaction postings and ledger mapping.
+ Supervise accounting staff and coordinate team activities.
+ Manage outsourced services such as payroll and tax compliance.
+ Ensure timely state and federal tax payments.
+ Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements.
+ Recommend strategies to improve financial efficiency and reduce costs.
+ Foster collaboration between Finance and other departments.
+ Contribute to team goals and provide guidance to support staff.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
+ Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience as a Controller in the manufacturing industry. Food manufacturing experience is a plus!
+ Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards. Average Costing Experience.
+ Experience with ERP systems and financial software. NetSuite software skills highly preferred. Software implementation experience a huge plus!
+ Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
+ Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional projects.
