    Description

    Robert Half, the leading international staffing agency, specializes in accounting and finance placements. We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk for a client in San Diego, CA. This role is pivotal in supporting accurate and efficient financial operations within the organization, ensuring the processes are streamlined and compliant with company policies.

     

    The Accounting Clerk will work closely with the accounting team to perform a variety of accounting and clerical tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with record maintenance. Ideal candidates will have strong organizational skills, excellent accuracy, and an eagerness to develop their accounting expertise.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist in processing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, including data entry and invoice coding.

    + Perform routine reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledger entries.

    + Prepare financial documents, reports, and spreadsheets as requested by management.

    + Research discrepancies and resolve issues related to invoicing, payments, and other financial activities.

    + Maintain and update accounting records, databases, and other financial documentation.

    + Assist with month-end close processes by preparing journal entries and gathering supporting documents.

    + Provide administrative support to the accounting team when needed, including filing and organizing financial records.

    Requirements

    + High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

    + 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience is required (internships are applicable).

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and basic accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP.

    + Familiarity with general accounting principles and procedures.

    + Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in working with ERP systems.

    + Knowledge of financial compliance regulations.

    + Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
