Description We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Rochester, New York. This contract position is ideal for professionals with experience in financial management, who excel in handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks. As part of a non-profit organization, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while utilizing your accounting expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision and efficiency.

• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented.

• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to support organizational goals.

• Assist in preparing financial statements and other reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures and streamline workflows.

• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

• Utilize advanced Excel formulas to organize and interpret financial data effectively. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting roles requiring attention to detail.

• Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and bank reconciliations.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas for financial analysis.

• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with financial systems, such as Dynamics GP, is a plus.
