Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Midland, Texas. This is a Contract-to-permanent position with an oil and gas company that operates 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, with half-day Fridays. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of accounting processes and a proven track record in the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts receivable and oversee billing operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Handle the creation of new client accounts and maintain detailed client records.

• Prepare and deliver financial reports to support business decision-making.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to address inquiries and resolve issues.

• Coordinate supply chain activities to align with accounting processes.

• Process bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.

• Calculate and manage sales tax filings for relevant company entities.

• Utilize accounting software to streamline operations and maintain data integrity. Requirements • At least 10 years of accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.

• Expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Familiarity with billing functions and account reconciliation.

• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule including half-day Fridays.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong communication abilities to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
