    Position Description

    Perform skilled mechanical service work on various types of fleet equipment such as cranes, forklifts, automobiles, trucks (both light and heavy duty), gasoline and diesel engines, manlift, heavy equipment such as backhoes, front loaders, graders, street sweepers, and small equipment, along with all other types of powerdriven equipment in accordance with standard trade practices

    Position Requirements

    P erform preventative maintenance on gasoline and diesel power equipment including: engine oil changes, chassis lubrication, check and replenish other fluids as needed. Repair or replace as needed: lights, brakes and related parts, tires and tubes, chassis parts, mounted vehicle components (both interior and exterior), install and repair safety equipment, light bars, spots lights, emergency beacons, communication system and related vehicle wiring. • Follow proper procedures for creating requisitions, obtaining repair service parts and supplies, producing and maintaining records of labor, parts and supplies used in work production. Demonstrate knowledge of parts and stocking. • Comply with all safety regulations and participate in an effective shop Safety Program. Demonstrate knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of maintenance shop work. • Test and inspect completed work to assure proper performance and timely completion. Comply with the Code of Conduct & Rules of Behavior outlined in the Kinder Morgan employee safety handbook

     

    Experience with the following: • Hydraulic systems • Hydraulic controlled systems • Electronic ignition systems • Electrical knowledge in 12/24 volt systems • Diesel and gas engines Changing oil and filters on front end loaders, automotive, excavators, material handlers stackers, remote buckets as well as cable controlled bucket magnet systems 220 volt DC and control systems, grapples
