    Shift: M-F/10PM -630AM/Weekend and Holiday Rotation

     

    The Lead SPD Technician is responsible for cleaning, decontamination, processing, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation and medical devices following the manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU’s). In absence of management, personnel is responsible for directing the performance of personnel and department activities to ensure smooth operations. Assist in exercising necessary controls in handling supplies and equipment. Keeps statistics as assigned and reports at regular intervals. Gives assistance during routine and emergency situations. Acts as department liaison for OR Materials Aides. Maintains quality control systems in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

    Education:

    + High School graduate or equivalent

    License/Certifications:

    + Associate is required to obtain certification within 1 ½ years of hire date. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)

    Experience:

    + Two to three years Sterile Processing Department experience or related technical experience

    Other:

    + Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)
